Question by ¸.•*´`*♥Pheebs1118♥*´`*•.¸: A few questions and concerns about eye sight, vision test?
Well I haven’t been to the eye doctor in a long time…partially because for awhile I had no insurance. So I am a little embarrassed. Well anyhow, I know I need to go but for some reason I just cant bring myself to go. I know it sounds stupid, I guess part of me knows my vision is bad, and I am just worried is it going to be THAT bad, or if something may be wrong with my eyes…idk. I wore contacts for awhile, and I know you can’t just order contacts being your prescription changes either for better or gets worse. I did get some off and on for awhile from the office I used to go to, because i used to go when I was younger ( high school ) all the time. Can anyone ease my tension about making an appointment? LOL
I have the insurance, so I really don’t have an excuse now. I more so am just concerned with what is going to happen I guess, ( since I haven’t been in some time ) or will I not be able to get contacts if my vision is too bad. I’ve also thought about the lasik surgery too. But heard alot of good and bad stories about those. Any words of advice?

Question by There can only be one – (ANSWER): Can anyone tell me about Lasik or the other procedures similar to it?
I have been wearing glasses since I was 8. I am one of those people who doesn’t have a use for a glasses case. The only time they are off is when I’m asleep. I am considering going to be evaluated to see if I can get my eyes fixed. I am a little bit scared. And I would like to know a little bit more about the procedures.

I had Lasik surgery on July 2, 2004 — it was the best money I ever spent. I started wearing bifocals when I was four, and like you, never could take off my glasses. Afterwards you can see better right away, and in a week or so, your vision is remarkable. I laughed and cried right when I was finished because I could read the clock across the room. I had never been able to open my eyes and SEE! The procedure does not hurt AT ALL. The whole procedure takes less than five minutes. Your eyes feel sort of tired afterward, maybe like you have been reading too much. You have to put drops in your eyes a lot the first week. It really is an easy thing to do. I say go for it — you will be so happy afterwards.

No, it works, but it is VERY expensive. But other than that it will either work or not, but you won’t go blind from it.
